If you know the emails of other family members email them to me and I'll send them a invite so that they can join in on these blogs. It's a fun way to keep in touch with family and friends. Just a quick post stating what you've been up to and just sharing family information. Usually this is what we all do in our Christmas cards. But, by using a blog you keep better in touch. Hopefully you'll all give this a try.
For us, Greg went snow sking this past Sunday with his brothers Steve and Brian and his sister in law Katy and a couple of friends. They went to Mt Hood Meadows and really had a great time. I stayed home and weeded the yard and garden. Then I planted half of my vegetable seeds (tomato, celery & beans). I also split my garlic bulbs that I didn't pull up last Fall. I also bought more blue berry bushes and got them planted.
Megan spent the day with her boyfriend Mike, it seems they are getting pretty serious and even talking about marriage next Spring. Makes me kind of nervous since they have been dating only since Dec 2006. But, they have known each other for a lot longer. They spent part of the day hanging out at our house watching movies. They use to go to the theaters alot; but finally realized it's alot cheaper renting them and hanging out at home. As for Dane he spent it hanging out with his buddies.
Also I don't know who has heard my great news. I have been riding motorcycles since I was 13 yrs old and owned a dirt bike and a street bike for years. Upgrading in size as I got older. Well after getting married and starting a family I sold both of my bikes. Well I've been wanting to get another one for years now; but Greg was worried and kept telling me not until both kids are 18 yrs old. I guess he didn't want to raise our kids by himself in case I hurt myself or something. I just grin at him. Well this past Feb 2007, Megan turned 18 yrs old. So in March 2007; I mentioned to Greg again about what he said about our kids having to be 18 before I could get another motorcycle. He told me if I wanted it, I was paying for it myself. I think he was hoping I would change my mind. Well I got one, with a big grin on my face. I got a 2007 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 CR. It's totally awesome!! I'm in love with it. My last street bike that I owned was a Honda 500 CR and it was chain driven. This one is shaft driven and shifts so smooth... It's also 5 speed which is super nice on the freeways. I've riden it into work twice already which is a 15 mile trip one way so 30 miles round trip which gave me a great ride. My coworker and friend Jeanne bought hers last Summer and she was in the same situation too where her husband didn't want her getting one until their son was 20. Well he turned 20 last Summer so she got to get hers last Summer. She got a 2006 Honda Shadow Aero 750. So we rode in to work together and rode around during our one hour lunch break. That was sweet! But, the rain is back and I'm waiting for it to dry up again so that I can take it out again. But, I plan on riding it back and forth to work as much as possible when it's not raining. We've also joined a women's motorcycle club out of the Portland Chapter called "Women On Wheels". We meet the 2nd Thursday of the month and plan rides as a group. They also talk about the rides other motorcycle club are having that everyone is invited to. My first group ride is in a couple weeks. I can't wait it's a Street Poker Run ride going to 5 Legacy Hospital around Portland, Tualatin, Gresham and Vancouver. They told me it's about a 90 miles ride, with stops at each destination to pick up a playing card and butt break. They are guessing it will take about 4 hours to finish the ride. Then at the end everyone checks in their playing cards to see who as the best poker hand. Then there are prizes on the winning hands. I use to do this with my dirt bike back when I was about 14 yrs - 20 yrs old. Those were fun because you were riding in the woods and had to follow arrows through the forest and not having a clue what the terrain would be like.
Well hopefully you all will have something to share about what your family has been doing. Looking forward to hearing from you.
